Lady Godiva
on a horse
galloping naked
through the towns
screaming for
Revolution
insisting on
Revolution
swallowing
and spitting
Revolution
 

for surgeons knives
to turn into
healing hands
and supine spines
to rise unto
powerful knees
for numb wombs
to invoke
martial law
and doctor’s words
to become
incantation
for this divine
Revolution
 

because those tubes
and needles
in my spine
and hand
and bladder
flowed only
with the elixir
of tears
and fear
and lingering
endorphins
elixer enough
to momentarily
paralyze the
